All of them are using the new X.org composite manager. 

If you want to try them, you need Hoary (as it changed from XFree to
X.org) and get the xcompmgr package (that manages the composite).

But be aware that the current state is more of "proof of concept" than
"usable". It is somewhat slow, and some applications start behaving
strange (like metacity, 'cause it also has a composite manager). But I
didn't get a hard-lock yet. :)
