nvidia drivers and hoary

Sent an earlier query on this topic, but it seemed to disappear.
I'm using Hoary on a laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 4x
Graphics Card. My understanding is that Hoary uses X.org, rather than
XFree86 (how do I tell, btw?).
Both /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and /etc/X11/xorg.conf exist and are
identical, and they specify the nv driver, despite the fact the the
NVIDIA driver appears to be loaded (dmesg has a line: NVRM: loading
NVIDIA Linux x86 NVIDIA Kernel Module 1.0-6111).
Is there a configuration utility that I can use to make use of this
driver, or can someone share an appropriate xorg.conf file?
Thanks and regards,
David
PS This is a *very* nice distro, and I've finally become a Gnome
convert with 2.8 :-)
