Packages in multiverse

Hello there,

I am new to Ubuntu and also have a question regarding packaging. I love
the Ubuntu defaults, but think it is missing a key productivity tool.
How would I recommend it be added? I am referring specifically to a
desktop publishing program like Scribus.

I am also having a hard time finding the control center. Is there such a
thing in Ubuntu? How would I access it???
