hoary : x server won't start

I tried both (dist-upgrade first), and it seems like switching to
x.org(which is default for Hoary) is the (expected) solution.

I hade the same problems, and I got it working by apt-get dist-upgrade and
switching to x.org - I am not sure which of it that was the important one.
