Kernel Compilation and Intel ProWirelessG

Ok, I'm using the SuspendHowto to re-compile a kernel. As long as I'm at
it, I'm optimizing it for my PentiumM processor, and for a laptop in
general (Yanking all the WAN junk, and some other esoteric devices that
would never be found on a laptop). However, in 2 sucessive kernel
compilations now, my Intel ProWireless (Centrino bit) has not come on on
startup. Checked the firmware directory on the regular i686 kernel, and
there's nothing in there. I'm at a loss...any thoughts?
