exmh is a tcl/tk front end to mh-style mailboxes. I do not think it
is very light on resources.

Is mh a requirement ?

If you want a small mail client, I recommend either mutt (which I use)
or pine (never a problem for new users) - both text mode. mutt
can deal with mh mailboxes.

If you want a graphical client, there are plenty - like kmail.
