Sound config

Though the amp I have it hooked to lets out a nice sighhhh when I turn
on the computer, so there is something trying to get out. I did disable
the onboard sound and ran the Alsa mixer way over to the right to turn
up all available switches, but still no sound. Seems ridiculous. Wait! I
just logged in to KDE, tried its kscd player and it  worked like a
charm. I'm now back in Gnome, where the Gnome cd player won't work, but
the Kscd is working great.
