locale warnings

Hello,

I have installed localeconf, and set LANG, LANGUAGE and LC_ALL to en_CA.
Unfortunately I still get this. 

[msoulier at latte msoulier]$ perl 
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = "en_CA",
        LC_ALL = "en_CA",
        LANG = "en_CA"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

I set up localeconf on my Debian sarge system and this worked fine. Am I
doing something wrong here?
