it's not a false alarm. It's a very much an ongoing story (last
update 3 days ago had a mention of bringing a lawyer into the

I'm personally still looking for an alternative; MondoRescue still
fits all my needs for backup on my home machine, but I wouldn't mind
looking into alternatives at this point.
In the meantime, relatively recent Mondo/Mindi deb files are available
both from Debian and from Ubuntu's Hoary Universe.
