iBook G4 (ppc), finnish keyboard, brackets?

I have an iBook G4 with Ubuntu 4.10. Most important things work just fine (even
optimized blas). The biggest problem is the keyboard: I can't type brackets and
braces with Finnish keyboard. I have tried all combinations of fn, shift, alt,
and apple + ordinary keys, but all in vain. The only working solution so far has
been to switch to us keyboard when typing brackets or braces. This is clumsy,
since I have to change back very soon after that, or ?/-+*: and all other signs
will be in obscure keys with the us keyboard.

My current keyboard layout is "Finnish fi(basic)". Keyboard model is "macintosh
(no description)". I also tried with "Genereric 104-key PC" which was the choice
after installation. All in vain.
