I can say from experience that 2 gigabytes is way too small for a
basic "normal" install of Warty but Warty seems to fit in 5 gigabytes.
(Sorry I don't have exact numbers, and I don't know how much room to
spare since I've wiped and redone that installation since.)
A custom install (type "custom" at the boot prompt) fits in much less
than one gigabyte, but of course that doesn't include anything you
would want on a "desktop" system -- you would want to add a window
manager and a few applications...
