My Monitor section looks like this:

Section "Monitor"
         Identifier "Generic Monitor"
         HorizSync 30-65
         VertRefresh 50-75
         Option "DPMS"
EndSection

I know my monitor can do 1280x1024 @ 75Hz but it still is at 60Hz.

I tried dpkg-reconfigure -plow xserver-xfree86 and entering only a
single number, 75, for the Vertical Refresh, but that didn't work either.

Does any know what is used to detect these settings during the install?
Perhaps i can connect the monitor directly so they're detected properly.

TIA,
mike
