problem with mysql install

I have installed the following packages: apache2, libapache2-mod-php4,
mysql-server

I have uncommented "AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
" in apache2.conf

When I go to a .php file I get a popup with the following

which is a: PHP file
from http://localhost/xoops/html
.... 
-----------------------------------------------------

Any ideas?
