Hi,
Tried this way ...but did not work. I saw some changes with blank X window screen, went bigger and normal (flip -flop) for few times and finally fall back to usual text window.
I was curious and installed RedHat 9 (which I had bought quite some time back) as another guest OS on top of VMware on the same laptop. The X window and entire installation worked straight away without any tweakings.
I am surprised why a new linux release like ubuntu which says a "desktop" distribution has so much problems to work on laptop whereas a two year old RedHat release installs so smoothly. Ubuntu deveopment team should take down this point as more and more users nowadays have been using laptops.
