There's a wike someplace. Also, this Q's been asked often. Googling
the lists archive should help.
Cares wit Athereos chipsets should be okay. I've seen dlink cards on the
shelf labelled "atheros" recently. Haven't tried one though.
In Australia, Netcomm cards are fine. I have two PCI cards. The one I
use is a rebadged this:
http://www.allnet.de/cgi-php/produkte_text_neu.php?allnet_pn=ALL0271&katnr=19
A problem is that vendors have very different cards with similar names
(or even the same name).
Avoid TI and Broadcom. Avoid anything that requires ndiswrapper. Prism54
can be okay - seem prism54.org, but
smc2802W works. one of the ticked prism54 chipsets.
smc2802w V2 doesn't. One of the crossed prism54 chipsets.
I verified the Netcomm card by downloading the Windows driver and
discovering firmware for a supported chipset inside.
