OpenOffice.org and dead keys problem

Hi,

OpenOffice.org is behaving slightly odd lately. I use dead keys, and 
when starting OpenOffice there is no problem at all. But after a while 
(typing text, switching to other open applications), it seems to 
"forget" the dead keys. No more accents, and no more ". It simply 
ignores the quotation marks, it seems. No more euro as well. In other 
programs dead keys work fine (for example the gnome-terminal with tin 
which I use to post this message).

Is anyone else having this problem?

I am using the original (bondi blue) iMac keyboard with us_intl (had to 
copy that to the mac layout directory to get dead keys working). I am 
using a fully up to date Warty.
