Can't hear and can't be heard (Skype on Toshiba)

I've recently installed Ubuntu Linux on my Toshiba Satellite 2435-S255
and everything seems to be OK with its sound device. I can hear system
sounds, listen to MP3 and Audio CDs, and even recording my voice
through the mic (a standard mic - not USB).

I've downloaded and installed Skype 0.92.0.2 (Dynamic binary tar.bz2 -
the one that requires Qt 3.2) and I can log on, insert contacts, see
their status and open a textual chat. If i select /dev/dsp on Skype
configuration, I can't make a call. If I select /dev/dsp1, I can make
a call but can't hear and can't be heard.

Someone to help me? Thanks a lot.
