Sod's (Murphy's) law. Just after I joined this thread, I'm starting to
get dropped connections every half hour or so this morning (I'm
working from home). I still only need to close and reopen the pop-up
window a couple of times to restart, though. This is what my plugins
directory looks like in Firefox (I'm using 1.0 in /usr/local/):
esullivan at gandalf:/usr/local/firefox/plugins $ ls -l
total 2148
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root staff 856 2004-11-09 10:04 flashplayer.xpt
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root staff 2096844 2004-11-09 10:04 libflashplayer.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root staff 63 2004-11-09 10:00
libjavaplugin_oji.so ->
/usr/local/lib/jdk/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root staff 18840 2004-11-07 13:27 libnullplugin.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root staff 57241 2004-11-09 09:57 nphelix.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root staff 5086 2004-11-09 09:57 nphelix.xpt
Notice that the nphelix* files are copied over, not symlinks. But I
forget why I did that, so probably a symlink would work.
I'm using a home-build computer with a stock Intel motherboard and
on-board sound, if that helps.
