Converting all files to UTF-8 ?

Perhaps I misunderstood the initial problem.  Renaming the files, e.g.
from brûlée.mp3 to brûlée.mp3, can never pose a problem.  Converting
the contents of the files from utf-8 to iso-8859-1 (or vice versa) may
pose a problem for binary files.
