Ubuntu and Midi

After reading some other threads, I managed to have timidity running as
a midi server on my Ubuntu box.

>From a root terminal, I did
modprobe snd-seq-device
modprobe snq-seq-midi

and then the command

timidity -iA -B2,8 -Os1l -s 44100

issued in a root terminal (to improve latency problems) created two
midi ports 128:0 and 128:1
so that the command (I installed mµpmidi beforehand)
pmidi -p 128:0 ultima.mid
played the tune.
