New Problem

It seems I've borked my Gnome desktop.

We had a power flicker here and my computer rebooted.

Unfortunately, when the power came back on, whenever I try to login to
Gnome, the panel locks up. It's completely unresponsive.

My background is no longer the same, either.

I copied all the Gnome directories to another folder and then I logged
into Gnome again, figuring that it would rebuild the folders and thus
be rid of any corrupted files.

It didn't work. The panel still locks up.

My daughter has an account on this machine and her Gnome desktop and
panel work perfectly.

Help!

David
