Ubuntu installed - left at CLI

My install went like this too. I assumed it was the normal installation 
routine, but apparantly not?
I had used debian before and i managed to find the 'ubuntu-desktop' 
package, but a windows user would doubtless have just give up.
 I will check that /debian-installer logfile to try and see what happened.
