Which Nvidia driver to install?

You can use both.
I use the Nvidia package which is with Ubuntu and it is the easiest way
to get 3D hardware acceleration.
You need the nvidia-glx and linux-restricted-modules packages.
The first is the driver for X and in the last package you find the
nvidia kernel module.
If you want to have the newest drivers you can try the download from the
site of nvidia.
