ppc modem not detected

hi again

i went to the howto from Yellowdog and followed the instructions, but 
there are a couple of things i dont understand. It describes the process 
of compiling as very easy but i get something different.

it asks me someting like if /usr/src/linux is where the kernel source 
is, i checked and this folder doesnt exist, of course i get an error if 
I say yes. I guess this is on Yellow dog. Where should i point it to in 
Ubuntu? I dont really know.
