Random Thoughts: 

This is very cool.  

I really like Ubuntu but two things give me a hard time, GNOME and
SUDO. 

I enable root login and su as soon as I finish an install and I am
learning GNOME but in some areas it is still somewhat klunky for me to
use.

I would say keep the Ubuntu name and, as much as possible, the theme
and feel.  I like Ubuntu-K better than Kubuntu.  K-Ubuntu or K'Ubuntu
might be a good compromise.  

Any possibility of creating seperate sections of the forum for
K-related items?  That might make monitoring easier and promote
participation.   

KPackager seemed to be fine for a newbie like me.  I liked the optioin
it offered to perform a "simulated" install.
