Mount problems with USB and PCMCIA devices [Warty]

I have Warty installed on an IBM T23. I have a USB floppy drive for the
machine, plus two PCMCIA card readers. I'm having problems with them
mounting (or, aa is often the case, not mounting).

Today, I tried to mount a floppy disk in the USB floppy drive. The
floppy disk was accessed for a couple of seconds, but no sign of the
drive ever appeared. Tried with two different USB floppy drives on two
different T23s. Under Win2K, no problem. Under Warty, no drive.

Also, when it comes to the PCMCIA card readers, sometimes they mount
and sometimes they simply don't appear at all.

I've looked through the bug list, but not seen anything that really
seems to cover what I'm seeing.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I can track this further? I've upgraded
pmount on one of the T23s, doesn't seem to have changed the behaviour
at all.
