I have to agree. Much better are cantus and cantus3. Unfortunately
neither of them are 100% complete. cantus3 is a new code base with
a plug-in architecture, but it's still buggy and few plugins have
been written.

I recently used cantus to tag a bunch of flac files that were untagged.
It's able to look up the disc in cddb from the hash (i.e. I didn't have
to dig out the discs again if I still have the hash under ~/.cddb),
generate the tags from the cddb info, and normalize the file names based
on the tags, all in one step.

I then used cantus3 to mass-edit some of the tag info, like artist name
and album. Mass-edit doesn't really work in cantus, because it zeros
unedited fields.
