Problem installing Development tools - Gnome and X11

Hi,
I am having no luck installing via apt-get some development tools. I
was able to install the build essential package. But I cannot install
things like gnome-core-devel or x11-libs-dev. It's quite frustrating
as it seems that it is really hard to convert ubuntu into a
developer's workstation.
Here are the errors that I am getting:
As you can see I am stuck in dependency hell right now. I am using
Warty flavor of ubuntu.
