Yes, but will this not bypass 'hotplug' (and how about 'suspend to ram',
(which I have not tried out yet))?
If I then need 'hotplug' will it fall back to only bringing up lo and eth0.
[All these situations should be accompanied with documentation containing
flow charts with some pertinent remarks at the nodes. Having to search
through a collection of scripts and a lot of not quite pertinent
or unclear documentation in man pages is very frustrating].
