Looking for standard office setup

Anyone know of a good, standard office setup document for Ubuntu.
There is a lot of info on setting up a workstation, but not a lot on
setting up a small office of Ubuntu machines and a single
file/print/mail server.
For example, NIS with shared home directories? LDAP?
How to handle laptop users?
I almost wish there was some sort of architecture standards or "best
practices". Maybe a good thing for the wiki.
