Hoary gnome-panel boken

I've encountered the same problem. Yesterday I fixed it by booting with 
the 2.6.8 kernel instead of 2.6.9. Funny thing is, I've had 2.6.9 
running without problem before.

My background always loads, and sometimes my lower panel load fine, but 
newer the top one.
