DVD playback problem (Warty)

I'm running Warty on an IBM T23. I wanted to be able to play DVDs, so I
uninstalled Totem-gstreamer, installed Totem-Xine, libcssdvd and
Xine-Ui.

I get sound from a DVD, but a blank (black) screen. No video output at
all. 

Can anybody suggest where I've gone wrong?
