Math fonts for OpenOffice

I would like to use some of the fonts used by Tex, in particular, some
mathematical characters which are not included in OpenOffice base
config. I know how to add special symbols, but I don't know how to add a
particular font to be used with OO.
In fact, I get a bit {well, actually, more than a bit, even more than
more than a bit} confused about fonts.
Where should I start to read?
