Problems with Hotplug

The computeris homemade, so it won't be there. Plus it's a desktop and
much of what I see during a quick check is laptop hardware. But the
first link is still a good starting point.

After last night's fiasco I have t guess I actually have 2 probems. I
can make it get past the device check during boot by using a kludge. So
it looks like there's a problem between hardware and hotplug. The other
appears to be something else in software since I now can't boot it after
doing some installations.

I didn't even know it was out except when seeing some of the traffic in
this list. So I didn't even bother to check for anything newer. I'll
give that a shot since I'm probably going to have to reinstall anyway
(or getAlt-SysRq-e to work). I may just jump to that and try the other
alternatives if I still have the problem.
