Software repository

Hello Ubuntu-users,

I am a relative newcomer to debian-based linux environments so please excuse my
ignorance.
I wondered if any of you have a straight forward solution to setting up a
software repository on my harddrive, as I do not have an internet connection at
home, and I don't know how to point apt or other package managers to a folder
and get files from there instead of from an ftp address.
