Some feedback: my girlfriend.
Well, the subject might look funny but it does make a lot of sense.
My girl friend was never into computers and technology but now she feels
this need of learning a bit of it, at least as basic user.
For this she's following a curse where, of course, they teach her to use
MS Office under Win. (I know you're all about to say "Dude, why don't
you teach her a bit" and I'll reply that I don't have time and I'm not a
good teacher.)
Well, the fact is that when she comes home she grabs my laptop and tries
to reproduce what she's learned during her classes but, of course, I
just have OpenOffice under Ubuntu so she's forced to use it.
So, a couple of days ago I asked her which OS did she prefer and she
said "Linux by far". Ok, this just means that Gnome is more intuitive
and user friendly than the horrible WinXP Start button entry point, by
it's nice to see that we're all walking the right way.

Some more feedback: my mother.
This time we're talking about an advanced user but she's always a
"mother". Last news is that she heard about Ubuntu and wants to give a
try to it installing it by herself, and she really mean it since I live
at 14,000 km from her so I can't help her.

I got my 10 cds a few weeks ago and I already don't even have a copy for
me because all people I talked to about Ubuntu wanted, at least, to try
the LiveCD.
A friend of mine from the States who lives in Barcelona, like me, said
that he tried many distros and worked in the Valley for years and for
the first time he saw something that could tempt old Win users to give
Linux a try.
I already asked for more cds but they never closed the file, probably
because it's always under my same name... I'll wait.

I'm very happy with Ubuntu and for the first time I think I'm doing the
proper thing, studying and learning Linux through this distro.

Ubuntu is a great alternative to Windows, which is, I think, one of the
best things of it. Of course, this is due to the excellent work of its
developers but also to its growing community, always willing to help
each other.

Great work to both areas.
