Processor/Fan Problem - Weird

Hi everyone,

I've been running ubuntu on a ThinkPad X31 for a few days now. Today for
the first time I had a problem where the fan came on and the Pentium M
CPU was stuck at 1.4GHz even though the load on the system was very low.
At the time all I was doing is surfing... This caused a big slow down
when I tried to reboot the machine aswel, and ideas??
