How to install when BIOS can't boot from the CD ?

Do you have enough disk space to:
1- boot from a windows floppy and use fips to split you harddrive into
two partitions.
2- Put the ubuntu iso image on your windows boot partition (the first
partition)
3- Boot the installer by using loadlin and mounting the isoimage as a
loop device?
4- have at least 1.8 gigs of free space on the second partition to
install ubuntu

?
Actually, you could just use a small 360 meg second partition and
install a custon base system, then move things around; but now I am
becoming complicated...

Maybe someone could suggest something simpler...
