Must-have apps won't run

Ubuntu would be a perfect OS for national pastors and workers in Paraguay and
other South American countries, if either Bibletime or Gnomesword would run.

Bibletime shows up in universe, which is odd. It is a KDE frontend for "The
Sword Project's" Bible concordance and database. The Gnome frontend for the
same database is Gnomesword. It is not in universe or multiverse, but can be
downloaded with its dependencies from Debian testing.

The problem: I've installed both Bibletime and Gnomesword with Synaptic, and
everything seems okay; all dependencies met. But both programs fail with the
error "segmentation fault." This is a major disappointment for me. Ubuntu in
Spanish would otherwise be perfect to use with donated older PC's to give to
national co-workers.

Has anyone gotten either Bibletime or Gnomesword to run in Ubuntu? I'm using
Warty. (The two programs run in Libranet 2.8.1). --Steve, in rural Paraguay.
