Looking for suggestions to speed up desktop performance

Cranking up that RAM could would help. X11 is a RAM hungry beast, so the
more the merrier. I've got 1GB of RAM in my machine, and my windows
still have a slight tail as I move them around. I've also got 128MB of
dedicated video memory in my 9700 too.
