How to fix the sleep problem on a G3 iBook2?

Hello folks,
More or less a month has passed since I've installed Warty on my G3
iBook2 machine: Everything works fine except the sleep mode -- The
machine hangs on resume (Yes, I own an non-extreme airport card).
I know this is an already discussed problem but I've not yet found a
detailed way to fix it. The Ubuntu bug tracking system provides a patch
to pbbuttonsd which I've applied but the problem persists on my machine
also once installed the patched package version.
Maybe someone in here can drop me two lines on how to fix my iBook2 in
order to wake up once again after a suspend process has been executed.
Thanks in advantage for feedback.
Regards,
I.
