That is probably what he already did.  Look for the option to burn a
CD Image somewhere in the program.  Another option is to (if you are
using Windows currently) hold Shift and right-click on the ISO file. 
Then select Open With... (in the English version, at least, not sure
what it is in your version)  From there, select your CD Burning
application.  If you are using Nero or EZ CD Creator, that should
allow you to burn the image properly.

After that, put the disc in your CD-ROM drive and reboot.  The Ubuntu
installer should come up automatically, and it is mostly
self-explanatory from there.  If it does not, you will have to change
the order of boot devices in your BIOS.  How you do this varies
depending on who manufactured your BIOS, so I can't give you specific
instructions.
