Well, Since I started the brief conversation by asking where people were
from and what they're interested in I guess I should do the same...

I'm located in Morgantown, WV and am interested in Ubuntu primarily as a
desktop/notebook OS. I have been using linux for approximately 8 years now
and have been using Ubuntu as my primary OS since its initial release.
Outside of Ubuntu I also have an interest on linux in smallish embedded
systems and have been playing around a good bit lately with a guruplug (
http://www.globalscaletechnologies.com/t-guruplugdetails.aspx).

On a somewhat related note (at least its also free software) I do some
playing around with the BSD's primarily I have an older sun SPARC desktop
running openbsd as my home router/gateway/firewall.

I am also an amateur radio operator and have recently been doing some
experimenting with mesh networking and long distance WIFI links. Believe it
or not this has an interesting tie-in to my Linux interests because most
(all??) of the devices widely used for this sort of thing are running some
variant of linux as their firmware.

Thanks,

Josh Smith
