Rick,

This is an excellent idea, I'm going to also copy the Ubuntu Wisconsin LoCo mailing list as well.

All, please see below. Does this sound like a thing people would want to get involved in?

Anthony,

I was in Madison at the West Town Mall and stumbled on the Apple Store. It was interesting to see how many excited people were in the store looking at product, getting individual help, and listening to presentations. Thats when I had an IDEA! Why don't we hold an Ubuntu Fair that includes group presentations, individual help, and workshops? I was thinking that we would need about 6-7 LOCO experts to help run the concurrent sessions.

I have also been doing some simple market research. For my classes, I have had 5 people in Minocqua, population 3,000, and 13 people in Rhinelander, population, 7,500. So I was thinking about holding an ubuntu Fair in Wausau, population 39,000. If my math holds, we should have close to 50 people.

From a timing perspective, I was thinking of sometime in early to mid January. That would be a perfect time to get people out of the house and hopefully to an ubuntu Fair.

Your thoughts?
