Menu Text too small

So I got a new TV and my mythtbuntu box (10.04) that was hooked up at
1024x768 via s-video to my old 30" CRT tv, is now connected via VGA to my to
my tv at 1360x768 (i know weird it isn't 720 on the nose)
It looks glorious except certain applications' menu text is incredibly
small. You can see VLC and Skype have super tiny menu text. I tried running
"xrandr --dpi 96" a suggestion from this post -
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1389804 but there has been no
change.

Any ideas?
