Hello, Wisconsin.

Grab some coffee, eggnog, or beverage of choice and have a seat!

Chrismas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, etc are over (I think, I didn't
read about them all), but you can here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_and_holiday_season - Thanks for
the link, Doug.

Anyway, we're coming to the New Year (2011, year of the Linux desktop,
amirite?), and one of my personal goals is to get some more activity
going on yet with Ubuntu Wisconsin. The last meeting we had showed
that we had some people around the state that were interested in
meeting up in person and online. I'd like to see if we can get
anything rolling somewhere in the state.

***Release Parties:
We have some people near Madison, La Crosse, Superior, Minong, and I'm
in Rhinelander (sorry if I forget anyone's location, I try), and I
don't see why we can't have some release parties for Ubuntu 11.04
Natty Narwhal coming out on April 28th
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyReleaseSchedule). Install fests? Social
meetups?

***Blog syndication:
We have some blog syndication set up at
http://ubuntu-wisconsin.org/c/syndicated/ and if you want to get your
posts tagged or categorized "ubuntu" to show up, please throw an email
to the mailing list and exigraff can get that set up for you (nudge,
exigraff).

***Meeting:
-Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 (yeah, it was weird to type 2011)
-8:00pm (CST), let's see if I can't screw this time up again
-Ubuntu Wisconsin IRC Channel #ubuntu-us-wi on Freenode, or
http://webchat.freenode.net/?nick=ubuntuWi-Guest&channels=ubuntu-us-wi

***Happenings (here, let me play 20 questions):
What kinds of things are people doing? Is anyone testing Natty?
Desktop, Netbook, Unity? Thoughts? Report or fix any bugs? Still
rocking the long-term release? Anyone using server?
Okay, so that was only 7 questions.

As usual, we have a few people on our IRC channel #ubuntu-us-wi on
irc.freenode.org, feel free to drop in a line and see if anyone is
around. You can use the webclient if you aren't familiar by clicking
here: http://webchat.freenode.net/?nick=ubuntuWi-Guest&channels=ubuntu-us-wi.
Alternatively, we have this handy mailing list for discussions as
well.

Thanks, and I hope to hear from some people.
