Just picked up the Wireless Laser Mobile Mouse, HP Product #VK482AA.

System Requirements include Window$ XP/Vi$ta, but I took a chance since
Staples had it on sale for $19.99.  Took it the library, opened up the
packaging, set the HP Mouse Software disk aside, inserted the micro usb
transmitter into my laptop, inserted the batteries into the mouse
and ...

Instant on.  Ubuntu FTW!
