There will be an Ubuntu Virginia team meeting at 7pm on Tuesday. Try to be there. Thanks!

It's past 7 now and no one is saying anything.

I would like to make a few suggestions.

1. When announcing a meeting please post details like: It's on IRC channel #ubuntu-us-va and the topic is X.

2. This group or at least whomever has worked on the web pages seems to have missed the point of what LoCo is supposed to be about somewhat.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/USTeams and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DigitalFreedom, and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VirginiaTeam.

The "About Us" Virginia page states:

The
Virginia Team advocates the use of Open Source software and Ubuntu
Linux in the State of Virginia. This is done through CD Distribution,
Team expansion and user-base support.
Do you all understand the differences between Digital freedom, Free Software and Open Source? The differences can be somewhat subtle, but they are not the same and have very significant differences.

One thing that has happened due to OSI is a proliferation of licensees, thats great if you are a lawyer but it has somewhat corrupted the meaning of "Free Software." The FSF.org warned about prolifilation of licenses prior to opensource existing.

Another very significant difference is that opensource can more easlily have a proprietary version of the software based on the opensource code and not provide the code to others.

So how about cleaning up the page to include links to FSF and not opensource.org? Or make that the topic for the next meeting?
