Need help with Mounting drive Please

This may be catch22.  hal (global device table) and udev (event log) should
mount the device for you. If they don't, it is probably because they didn't
see it and there is little you can do at the command line. But...

lshal|less
less /var/log/udev
lshw|less

my guess is you have a hardware problem and no amount of hand waving will
fix it. If you send me the output of the three commands above, I can try and
come up with something more useful.
