[ubuntu-us-ut] Airing of grievances (was Meerkat Ditching 'aptitude')

I feel like one thing Ubuntu could really use is a first-time-run
welcome screen that suggests things that a new Linux user will want to
install. Rolling things that require removing tools that have been
available by default for years in a standard install just doesn't make
sense to me. They are always going to be bumping into that CD size
limit as long as they have it, so they really need to come up with
alternate solutions to the problem. If 15mb is a big deal, they really
have bigger problems than seemingly duplicate tools...
